Atlantic Health System Medical Records Analyst I in Morristown, New Jersey

Atlantic Visiting Nurse is seeking a full-time Medical Records Analyst.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Retrieves documents from clinical teams and medical records mailbox and checks for episode identification, and completion prior to scanning.

  • Sorts and prepares documents for scanning into EPIC Media. Monitors admission paperwork and notifies coordinator if documentation missing (i.e. 1 page of paper consent not submitted.) Scans paper medical record submissions into EPIC Media. Processes records on request.

  • Prepares admission booklet with appropriate forms for admission staff. Informs ordering staff/manager when supplies are needed.

  • Completion of transition of care documents submitted by outside partners (ie Bessen)

  • Prepares medical record for archiving. Prepares required forms for archiving. Contacts company and oversees pick up of archived materials.

  • Receives outside and in-house requests for medical records. Triage requests for MMC vs. AHCH filled requests. Completes appropriate quick release note in chart re request. Prepares medical record request, final check by manager and mails/fed ex/faxes documents to requesting party. Receives and monitors payment for request.

  • Quality review performance for EPIC Media. Identifies incorrectly named/episode documents and rescans with corrected verifier.

  • Maintains appropriate par levels of all agency documents and paperwork by checking levels and ordering documents routinely.

  • Communicates effectively with offsite locations (ie print shop)

Required:

High school diploma or GED.

Proficient in computer use.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
