Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry. The role is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will require skills in grant accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and some exposure to audit. The role will also involve a mixture of fee for service and contract accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Manage grant accounting processes and ensure compliance with federal grant regulations

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger

• Perform account and balance sheet reconciliations

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and prepare reports

• Assist in the month-end close process

• Work with MS Great Plains Dynamics for financial reporting and analysis

• Handle the accounting for accruals and prepaids

• Maintain accurate financial records and assist in audit procedures

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Skills:

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Strong knowledge of General Ledger management

• Expertise in preparing Journal Entries

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with MS Great Plains Dynamics

• Knowledge of Federal Grant regulations and Grant Accounting procedures Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance industry

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations is required

• Strong knowledge and experience with general ledger and journal entries

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Great Plains Dynamics

• Proven experience with month-end close processes

• Demonstrated experience with federal grant and grant accounting, including post-grant activities

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required

• CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
