Lilly Senior Director – Product Lifecycle Management in Indianapolis, Indiana

Organization Overview:

Lifecycle Management within Global Supply Chain & Manufacturing Strategy focuses on collaboration with technical and commercial product lifecycle management teams to orchestrate lifecycle planning for pre- and post-launch products globally. The team drives portfolio management discussions and decisions and then supports business development and sourcing activities in support of the strategy.

Role Overview:

Senior Director - Product Lifecyle Management is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to optimize the entire lifecycle of pharmaceutical products, ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and driving continuous improvement for enhanced product performance and profitability

Responsibilities:

Functional:

  • Product Portfolio Management

  • Develop process, at and enterprise level, to institute strategic Product Portfolio Management, working cross functionally to execute and gain sponsorship and support for recommendations.

  • Conduct portfolio analyses to assess the performance and potential of current and future products

  • Develop and implement product lifecycle management (PLM) strategies aligned with business objectives and market dynamics

  • Collaborate with R&D, regulatory affairs, commercial, and supply chain teams to facilitate seamless transitions between product development phases

  • Launch Planning

  • Provide initial inputs to the overall New Product Launch program and define viability of launch timeliness based on initial estimation on global demand and required capacity from supply chain design team

  • Provide refined inputs to Global Launch program and reassess launch timeliness after receiving high-level regional launch plan from demand planning

  • Facilitate handoff to supply planning about viability of launch timelines for new product launches

  • Ensure all products comply with relevant regulations from development through post-market phases

  • Product Retirement Planning

  • Coordinate communication and logistics for product discontinuation with relevant stakeholders

  • Drive process improvement to ensure discontinuations are executed in full compliance globally, but with minimal effort.

  • Variation & Flavor management

  • Develop initial point of view on flavor management after alignment of regional demand forecast has been integrated into NPL planning & launch execution has started

  • Provide insights for decision-making on product enhancements and modifications

Leadership:

  • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the product lifecycle management team

  • Facilitate transparent and open communication within the team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and feedback

  • Have strong communication skills to effectively convey complex product lifecycle concepts to all relevant stakeholders

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of experience in a relevant field such as pharmaceutical sciences, business, or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience in product lifecycle management within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze product performance data.

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align PLM activities with overall business goals.
