The Senior Business Developer for the medical surgical division will play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities, forging key relationships, and driving revenue growth within the medical surgical market segment. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, particularly in the surgical domain, and a proven track record of driving business development initiatives

A Day in the Life

  1. Market Analysis and Strategy Development

Ø Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape within the medical surgical segment.

Ø Develop strategic business plans and go-to-market strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and achieve revenue targets.

  1. Relationship Management

Ø Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including surgeons, hospital administrators, purchasing managers, and distributors.

Ø Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams such as sales, marketing, and product development to ensure alignment with customer needs and market trends.

2. New Business Development

Ø Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new product launches, partnerships, and distribution channels.

Ø Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers and partners to drive revenue growth and market penetration.

  1. Sales Support and Training

Ø Provide sales teams with the necessary tools, resources, and training to effectively promote and sell medical surgical products.

Ø Monitor key performance metrics, market trends, and competitor activities to evaluate the effectiveness of business development strategies.

Ø Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management to communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities within the medical surgical segment.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Ø Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.

Ø Minimum of 6-9 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the healthcare industry, with a focus on medical devices or surgical products.

Ø Proven track record of successfully driving business growth and achieving revenue targets.

Ø Strong understanding of the medical surgical market landscape, including knowledge of key players, trends, and regulatory requirements.

Ø Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Ø Strategic thinker with analytical mindset, capable of translating market insights into actionable business plans.

Ø Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and market conditions

Nice to Have

Ø Strong Interpersonal skills, with focused People/Customer/Result orientation.

Ø Strong grasp on the market and understanding around the complexities, competition, customer preferences etc

Ø Ability to prioritize and execute as per the needs of the business and the current set of challenges

Ø Strong analytical skills (to understand local markets and customer needs) in order to develop region specific plans, strategies and tactics.

Ø Strong leadership and vision, assertive, and can collaborate with various stakeholders within the organization

Ø Ability to quickly revector and improvise the business model if the current model is not yielding desired results
