If you put your accounting skills to good use, Robert Half has an opening for a Senior Accountant with an Energy Trading company. Your main responsibilities in this position would include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. The challenging, fast-paced work environment requires top-notch analytical skills. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Financial Services field and is located in Houston, Texas. Responsibilities
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Requirements
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Exceptional time management skills preferred
Journal entries experience desired
Ad Hoc Reporting experience required
Financial statement preparation experience
Ledger Reconciliations experience preferred
2+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience REQUIRED
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA REQUIRED
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Experience with ERP systems
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
