Howmet Aerospace Production Control Engineer in Cleveland, Ohio

Job Summary

Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Production Control Engineer in our Tooling Business Center at our Engines Products - Cleveland Operations Tempcraft facility located at 3960 S. Marginal Rd. in Cleveland. The Production Control Specialist role provides leadership, direction, and information to the operational teams to execute manufacturing needs to all customers through scheduling of internal resources.

This is a 1st shift position working Monday-Friday.

Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following elements:

  • Interacts with leadership in order to manage the flow of product through the operation.

  • Leads job status review at Daily Management Meeting with Leadership Team

  • Assists in troubleshooting production problems; investigates and analyzes facts and data; initiates and/or recommends actions to correct deviations and variables affecting production schedules, costs, quality, and other factors.

  • Ensures that production schedules are accurate and correct to support all customer demands.

  • Plans appropriately with operations to eliminate any overdue situations (scheduling, staffing, production time, production plans, and overtime).

  • Aligns with the plants Inventory position and status; supports audits of inventory and cycle counts to ensure accuracy throughout the year.

  • Validates all planned daily shipments and actual shipments to achieve and support operations.

  • Supports and is aligned with all EH&S metrics; actively participates, promotes, and complies with all EH&S programs and policies.

  • Additional functions as designated by Operations Manager.

Job Specifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment including leadership, planning, and scheduling roles and responsibilities

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the investment casting tooling industry

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and/or Supply Chain

  • Experience in the investment casting industry
