We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team based in Baltimore, Maryland. This role involves a variety of accounting assignments within a Business Unit, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements. Responsibilities:

• Perform various accounting assignments within the Business Unit

• Record and report financial transactions accurately and timely

• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements

• Produce accurate and timely financial statements as needed

• Participate in the planning and analysis function

• Maintain and enhance internal controls and support regulatory compliance and business planning by performing analyses

• Work closely with other departments and business units regarding accounting activities

• Consult and liaise with operating unit finance personnel on accounting issues

• Prepare, review, and analyze account reconciliations

• Assist, as required, in special projects and the implementation of changes in FASB/GAAP

• Perform day-to-day activities associated with the monthly financial statement close process

Requirements

• Candidate must have a minimum of 1+ year of experience in an accounting role

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations is essential

• Ability to perform Journal Entries is a must

• Proficient with Month End Close procedures

• Public accounting experience preferred, not required

• Proficiency in Financial Statement Preparation is a requirement

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred

• Advanced knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
