TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION Investigator (Remote) in Austin, Texas

You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.

WHO YOU ARE: Candidates must have a secure, dedicated workspace with Internet service, ability to maintain a reliable consistent work schedule and be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Investigator III performs moderately complex (journey-level) investigative work. Work involves conducting investigations. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO: -Conduct moderately complex investigations to determine if Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefit payment was properly made. -Mine and analyze unemployment insurance claims data, trends and procedures. -Perform heavy telephone contact with public utilizing strong interviewing and communication skills. -Respond to oral and written inquiries from claimants, employers, and agency staff to provide customer support in a busy work environment. -Examine, review, and audit UI claim records. -Adjudicate fraud/non-fraud and other non-monetary issues as needed. -Use personal computer to data enter corrections, record decisions, and document case information to the Benefits System. -Treat customers with courtesy and respect as well as handles hostile clients in a professional manner. -May participate in studies and projects. -Perform other duties as assigned.

YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH: -Recent UI experience and knowledge of UI regulations -Ability to work quickly, perform multiple tasks, pay attention to detail, and adhere to telephone schedules and strict deadlines. -Investigation experience -Bilingual; Spanish/English

YOU QUALIFY WITH: -Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plus one year of full-time experience performing auditing or investigating work; or unemployment insurance claims examiner tasks; or gathering of information, interviewing, counseling or in the instruction, demonstration, and interpretation of policies in a public or private enterprise. -One year of qualifying experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of education.
